London, August 4 (ANI): Beyonce has revealed that her experience of seeing the Egyptian women wearing 'burkas' and singing her women empowerment song 'Irreplaceable' during a concert before the nation's uprising was quite 'amazing'.
She revealed to Harper's Bazaar UK magazine how the women joined her in the song while their male counterparts were left upset when she visited the nation two months ago.
The American singer's concert at Port Ghalib on the Red Sea was a roaring success despite earlier hindrances in the form of protests from ultra-conservative Islamic groups, who did not approve of her raunchy outfits and sexy dance moves.
"There were a lot of women in the audience in burkas. They were singing along to Irreplaceable - it was amazing!" the Daily Mail quoted her as telling the magazine. Some of the men got really upset! They were like to their women, 'We have to get you out of here!'....I guess some of them (men) do get annoyed. But I never want to do 'the banner thing'," she said. (ANI)
