London, Aug 2(ANI): England manager Fabio Capello fears that midfielder Steven Gerrard could miss the rest of the Three Lions' Euro 2012 qualifying campaign due to an infection in his troublesome groin.
Gerrard has already been ruled out of next week's friendly against Holland at Wembley.
Capello has also discounted the midfielder from his plans for the Euro 2012 qualifiers in Bulgaria and then at home to Wales next month, the Daily Express reports.
The potentially decisive match against Montenegro in Podgorica on October 7 could also come too soon.
Gerrard's absence would leave a massive hole in Capello's plans, with the Italian wanting to utilise all his most experienced heads to ensure qualification before giving his younger players the chance to stake their claim for a Euro 2012 squad berth. (ANI)
