Tottenham ready to sell Modric if Chelsea offers 'head-turning' bid

London , Tue, 02 Aug 2011 ANI

London, Aug 2(ANI): Tottenham Hotspur have admitted that they could sell midfielder Luka Modric if they receive a "head-turning" offer from Chelsea.

"Transfers are part and parcel of the game, but you don't want to lose your best players, and he certainly is one of our best players," the Daily Express quoted Tottenham assistant manager Kevin Bond, as saying.

"We desperately don't want to lose him, but everybody has got a price. The chairman is adamant he doesn't want to sell him and that's great for us, but if at the end money turns your head and he did go, then obviously we'd have to get on with it," he added.

Chelsea is set to make a third bid worth 30 million pounds for the midfielder this week.

Tottenham have already rejected bids of 22 and 27 million pounds from Chelsea.

Modric had signed a six-year contract at Tottenham last year, but is desperate to join Chelsea and has submitted a formal transfer request. (ANI)
