Melbourne, Aug 2 (ANI): More than a quarter of Britons name their cars and hold daily console chats with their motors about other drivers, problems at work and relationship hassles, according to a new survey.

The survey run by car insurance comparison site Confused.com revealed about 33 per cent ofConfused.com rconfess to having these daily "car-versation".

Most popular names given to their cars include - Ruby, Charlie, Jack and Oliver - following trends for baby names.

The "findings also confirm that 16 percent of men see their cars as women, choosing words such as sexy and mischievous," claimed Confused.com.

"By giving their car a special name, drivers are treating their car as something that deserves to be cared for - a friend, a pet, a companion, sometimes even a lover," News.com.au quoted Peter Collett, Psychologist and author of Driving Passion - The Psychology of The Car as saying.

The good news is that this unusual relationship helps drivers do well on the road.

"Nearly one fifth of motorists who name their cars believe it encourages them to be more careful on the roads," Confused.com's head of car insurance Gareth Kloet said.

"Drivers with an emotional attachment to their vehicles are more likely to take better care of it on and off the road," he added. (ANI)
