Washington, August 2 (ANI): Latin superstar Ricky Martin, now father to two-year-old twin boys Matteo and Valentino born via a surrogate mother, has revealed that he hates changing dirty nappies although he always wanted to have children.
The 39-year-old gay singer also said that he has learned a lot from his kids - including the aspects of fatherhood, which he isn't keen on.
"I've always wanted to be a father. I knew it was something I wanted in my life. One day, I typed 'surrogacy' into the computer and started researching. Now I have twin boys who are the loves of my life," Contactmusic quoted him as telling the Daily Telegraph.
"Every decision I make is based on my children. They teach me different things every day, such as the beauty in simplicity. But I do hate changing dirty nappies; it's not fun at all," he added.
Marin has also learned a great deal of life lessons from fatherhood, particularly about becoming more selfless.
"Being a father, you come to know yourself. You have no choice but to become less selfish as it's not about you anymore. But you also have to feel good about yourself in order to set a good example. Fatherhood has made me work on myself," he added. (ANI)
