New Delhi, July 31 (ANI): Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar convened an all-party meeting here on Sunday afternoon ahead of the monsoon session of parliament, which begins tomorrow.
Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and several other political leaders attended the meeting.
The monsoon session is expected to be a stormy affair with the opposition all set to take on the government on several issues, including corruption and inflation.
The government held discussions with opposition before finalising the Lokpal Bill, which is to be introduced on Wednesday.
The other important bills to come up include Land Acquisition Bill, Food Security Bill, the Benami Transactions Bill and the Mines and Minerals Bill.
The meeting was called to ensure that the opposition cooperates with the government in running the House. (ANI)
