Lahore, July 23(ANI): Pakistan coach Waqar Younis has appealed to former cricketers Javed Miandad and Wasim Akram to come forward and help the young players ahead of the Zimbabwe tour.
"These (Miandad and Akram) are great players and any time a youngster spends with them is quality time. I would love to see them come and assist us in the camps," the Nation quoted Waqar, as saying.
"We have a very hectic and tough schedule ahead of us for the next six months and our performances will decide where we stand in the world rankings," he added.
Waqar, who is now settled in Sydney, further admitted that he had been out of touch with the team since their return from the West Indies.
"But now my entire focus is on cricket and the assignments coming up in every format of the sport," he added.
Pakistan will play one Test, three ODIs and a Twenty20 match during the three-week tour.
The team will depart for Zimbabwe on August 28. (ANI)
