New Delhi, July 21 (ANI): External Affairs Minister S.M Krishna will meet Pakistan Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar for bilateral talks in Delhi on July 27.
These talks will be preceded by a meeting of the Foreign Secretaries of India and Pakistan on July 26.
Earlier, Krishna sent a letter of felicitations to Khar soon after learning of her appointment as new Pakistan Foreign Minister.
Krishna said that he looked forward to meeting her in New Delhi soon and to working closely with her in achieving the common goal of establishing friendly and cooperative bilateral relations, which was in the interest of the peoples of both countries.
Khar became Pakistan's first woman foreign minister on Tuesday.
As Pakistan's 26th and youngest foreign minister, Khar, who has taken up the post five months after her predecessor Shah Mahmood Qureshi lost the job amid a diplomatic row with the United States, will lead Pakistani delegation at the Association for South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) forum on July 22-23 in Bali, Indonesia.
