New Delhi, July 20 (ANI): West Bengal Finance Minister Amit Mitra, who met Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, has said that the developmental projects and programmes of the state will continue.
Talking to reporters here after the meeting, Mitra said: "I spoke to Pranab Mukherjee, in a way as an emissary of the Chief Minister (Mamata Banerjee) and I am confident that the developmental projects and programmes of Bengal will continue."
"Based on the discussion with the Chief Minister and the Finance Minister, we took a few more steps forward and Banerjee's amazing move forward towards development will definitely continue," he added.
Banerjee had demanded for special financial assistance worth rupees 47000 crores from the central government over the next four years.
Mukherjee had agreed to increase the allocation by 54 percent and thereby extend an additional sum of rupees 22,224 crores as financial bailout package. (ANI)
