New Delhi, July 19 (ANI): India on Tuesday welcomed steps taken by the United States to remove Indian entities from the U.S. Department of Commerce's 'Entity List' and realignment of India in U.S. export control regulations.
In a joint statement issued after the conclusion of the second US-India Strategic Dialogue here, both sides also agreed to continue efforts to fulfill objectives of strengthening export control cooperation envisaged in the Joint Statement of November 2010 and on the basis of discussions in the high technology cooperation group held earlier this month.
According to the statement, both sides also expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved together towards India's full membership of the four multilateral export control regimes - Nuclear Suppliers Group, Missile Technology Control Regime, Australia Group and the Wassennaar Arrangement - in a phased manner consistent with the core principles of these regimes, as the Government of India takes steps towards the full adoption of the regimes' export control requirements.
