London, July 16(ANI): Indian fast bowler Zaheer Khan has turned up the heat on England captain Andrew Strauss ahead of the first Test, which starts on July 21 at Lord's, by slamming his decision to play in the practice game between India and Somerset.
Zaheer believes that Strauss sent the wrong message to his team by heading down to Taunton to try to put his problem with left-arm fat bowlers behind him.
"The fact that Andrew Strauss is here playing in this practice game says it all. There is definitely that element of doubt in his mind and he has given me that edge now going into the series," The Daily Mirror quoted Zaheer, as saying.
"A guy who wants to come and face a particular bowler who he knows is troubling him is in itself a sign. I feel that as a captain it is not a positive move for someone who is going to lead England. He has shown the opponent exactly what it is he is thinking," he added.
Zaheer knows all about Strauss' weakness against left-arm fast bowlers, having got him out four times out of six during the 2007 Test series. (ANI)
