Mumbai, July 16 (ANI): The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) is likely to quiz Indian Mujahideen (IM) members in connection with the serial blasts that took place in Mumbai on Wednesday evening.
The ATS has reportedly sought help from the Kolkata Police, and asked them to verify if any suspects had travelled to Mumbai and subsequently went underground following the blasts.
"A police team from Karnataka has come to Mumbai to help us. An ATS team from Maharashtra will also go to Karnataka and Ahmedabad to question the IM members lodged in the jails there," Times Now quoted a police official, as saying.
The ATS is likely to question Indian Mujahideen member Danish Riyaz in Ahmedabad, who had been arrested in connection with 2008 Gujarat serial blasts.
The police is also expected to question Indian Mujahideen's Karnataka-based operatives Riaz and Iqbal Bhatkal.
At least 19 persons have died and over 130 others are reported to have been injured.
The three serial blasts rocked Opera House at 6: 54 p.m., Zaveri Bazaar, a popular jewellery market, at 6: 55 p.m., and Kabutar Khana, Dadar, at 7: 06 p.m. on July 13. (ANI)
