London, July 15 (ANI): Heavyweight boxing brothers Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko are mourning the death of their 64-year-old father.
Former Soviet Air Force colonel Wladimir Klitschko, who played a key role in a clean-up after the disaster at the Chernobyl in his native Ukraine in 1986, died of cancer caused by his exposure to radiation in the incident's aftermath.
According to the Daily Mail, the elder Klitschko had has been suffering from cancer for a long time and spent his last days in a hospital.
However, he was able to watch his son Wladimir beat David Haye to become the undisputed world heavyweight champion from his hospital bed in Hamburg, Germany, on July 2.
He was then moved to Kiev where he died on Wednesday. (ANI)
