'Mancations' and 'breakations' are what men and women do after splitting up

Melbourne, July 14 (ANI): Seeking a way to mend your broken heart? Then pack your bags and holiday with your pals - at least that's what most men and women are doing these days.

According to travel companies they are seeing growing demand for 'splitsville' holidays.

Whether it's for recovery or revenge, both men and women are showing they are keen for a break after a break-up.

"Our market research has shown today's divorcing couples don't hide under their doonas but are more likely to rebound with a holiday," The Age quoted general manager of Quickbeds, John Feenaghty, as saying.

"We did a survey to get an idea of who our customers were and their motives for taking a holiday and this came out very clearly.

"Sixty-six per cent of people said they have gone away to mend a broken heart," added Feenaghty.

Feenaghty said women have always been good at organising girls' weekends but there is a noticeable trend towards more men taking "mancations", or trips away with their mates.

"Sixty-seven per cent of males [who took part in the survey] had taken a male-only holiday," he said.

Feenaghty said "mancations" are typically based around sporting events, motor racing, fishing, surfing, golf or gambling.

A typical girls' 'breakation' combines flights and accommodation with spa treatments and other pamperings. (ANI)
