Washington, June 30 (ANI): Brad Pitt is reportedly being lined up to star in the hostage drama 'The Mission'.
Warner Bros., who has obtained the rights to the film, wants the Hollywood heartthrob to take on the lead role with a script by Peter Landesman, reports Contactmusic.
The film tells the story of the methodical six-year mission planned by American and Colombian covert operatives to free 15 hostages from the Colombian jungle, who included three Americans and Ingrid Betancourt, once a candidate for President of Colombia.
The hostages - who were held by the Colombian guerrilla group FARC from between six and 15 years - were treated appallingly as they were moved around jungles and often chained to trees at night by their necks.
However, the main focus will be on Operation Jaque, a military action that resulted in the freedom of 15 hostages, which took place on July 2 2008.
While Pitt - who is busy shooting 'World War Z' - is yet to sign up, Warner Bros. is keen to start shooting the movie as soon as possible. (ANI)
