New Delhi, June 10 (ANI): The condition of yoga guru Baba Ramdev's supporter Raj Bala, who suffered spine injuries during the police crackdown at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan, has deteriorated and is reported to be very critical.

"Her condition is very critical and her vital parameters are being maintained with increased pharmacological support," according to the doctors, who are attending her at the Neurosurgery Department ICU of G B Pant Hospital here.

Raj Bala, a resident of Gurgaon, who had undergone surgery on June 5 for cervical spinal injuries, is currently on ventilator.

Doctors here have done decompression and fixation using plate, screw and cage.

Doctors further said the neurological status of Raj Bala, 51, remains unchanged and she is quadriplegic (paralysis caused by illness or injury to a human).

Another ardent Ramdev supporter, who got head injuries during the government crackdown is presently undergoing treatment at the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital here.

"Only one patient is admitted with us and the rest have been discharged. He will be discharged as soon as he recovers," said LNJP Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Richa Diwan.

Meanwhile, Baba Ramdev has been hospitalized at at Dehradun's Jolly Grant Hospital following a deterioration in his health.

The fasting yoga guru was shifted on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance in his Patanjali Yogpeeth and taken out of Haridwar.

Doctors attending to Baba Ramdev had earlier advised that the yoga guru should be immediately hospitalised and treated in Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Releasing Ramdev's health bulletin, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Yogesh Sharma said that if Baba did not break his fast he may suffer irreversible damage to his body.

"We have advised him to get hospitalised as we have observed that his kidney functions at a low level as albumin has been detected in his urine," Sharma said, adding, "We examined Baba. His condition is fast deteriorating and is worrying."

Ramdev's pulse rate was as low as 98/min and his blood pressure had dipped to 104/70.

Despite spiritual leaders trying to convince the yoga guru to call off his fast, Ramdev remained firm about continuing with it till his demands were not met.

Some 'sant samaj' members visited Ramdev on Thursday and asked him to call off his fast.

Ramdev has been on a hunger strike against corruption along with 65,000 followers when the police on the government's orders dismantled the elaborate camp late on Saturday night that had been set up at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan. (ANI)
