Jayalalithaa announces compensation for Vellore bus mishap victims

Chennai, June 8 (ANI): Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Wednesday announced a compensation of Rs one lakh to the kin of those killed in last night's road accident at Vellore.

 

Expressing her condolence over the death, Jayalalithaa also announced Rs 50,000 to the injured.

 

She said that she had deputed three ministers to review the situation.

 

At least twenty three people were charred to death when the private bus they were travelling in plunged down a bridge and caught fire near Kaveripakkam in Tamil Nadu's Vellore District last night.

 

The bus, on its way to Tiruppur from Chennai, fell down the bridge as the driver lost control.

 

The vehicle was completely gutted. (ANI)
