London, May 4 (ANI): Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish wants a final say on all transfer deals taking place at the club.
And this is the reason behind the delay in owner John W Henry giving Dalglish the manager's job.
Liverpool chiefs appointed former Spurs technical director Damien Comolli to head up recruitment last November, The Sun reports.
He was brought in to work with former boss Roy Hodgson and in March was made Director of Football.
Henry admitted Hodgson was surprised at the appointment.
Dalglish, who took over as caretaker boss in January, is even less keen on the arrangement, even though Henry wants him and Comolli to work together.
Dalglish is an old-fashioned manager who likes to do things his own way and sees no merit in Comolli picking players for him.
He is now making it known he wants control when it comes to player signings.
Asked if he was close to the full-time job, Dalglish said: "I don't know, I've never asked - maybe goal-line technology will be in first." (ANI)
