RSS leader urges China to stop atrocities on Tibetans

Dharamsala , Fri, 22 Apr 2011 ANI

Dharamsala, Apr 22 (ANI): Calling on China to stop its atrocities on monks of Ngaba Kirti monastery, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Indresh Kumar has urged Beijing to normalise situation in the troubled areas of Tibet.

Speaking to media persons after visiting the venue for Tibetan Youth Congress' ongoing relay huger strike outside Tsuglagkhang here, Kumar also called on China to hold dialogue with the Tibetan government in exile to resolve the issue of Tibet.

"China must at least immediately stop environmental destructions taking place in Tibet. Also it must end all religious repressions against the monks and monasteries in Tibet," he added.

He further said: "In the name of development in Tibet, China is repressing the people of Tibet, which should be immediately stopped. We are trying to tell the Indian government and the world community that China should be pressurized and should leave the Himalayas."

Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC) President Tsewang Rigzin said his organization was pleased with Mr Indresh's visit.

"It is very encouraging to have him here. He said that the suppression that is going on at Kirti Monastery should stop immediately. Also we discussed with them the issue of Tibet at larger scale," Rigzin added.

The Tibetan Youth Congress on Sunday launched an indefinite relay hunger strike to protest against what it called "a critical situation" in and around Kirti Monastery in Ngaba, Tibet. (ANI)
