New Delhi, Mar.25 (ANI): The Parliament's budget session ended today, as both the Houses have been adjourned sine-die, curtailing the two-month session, due to the April- May Assembly elections.

The session had started on February 21 and in its course saw many debates and chaos over corruption allegations against the government on the 2G spectrum allotment to mobile operators, Devas-ISRO deal and the WikiLeaks cables, among other issues.
It is reported that the proceedings became more or less normal after the Government formed a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) demanded by the opposition to probe the 2G scam.
Important discussions on cash for vote issue and rail budget remained highlights of the Session apart from passage and introduction of some important legislations. The Lok Sabha also held a debate discussing the plight of the minorities.
Another important development was the shifting of the question hour from 11 am to 2 pm in the Rajya Sabha.
The Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar gave the resume of the activities that took place during the session before adjourning it.
She said that during the session, the House had held 23 sittings spread over approximately 160 hours and 35 minutes.
In the Rajya Sabha, the Chairman Mohd. Hamid Ansari said that he had received a good response on his decision to change the timing of question hour, adding that it had been done to optimize its output and to provide members regular opportunity to raise matters of concern. (ANI)
