Melbourne, March 21 (ANI): Former Bollywood actress Tania Zaetta has vowed to fight criminal charges over 'disturbance' on the Gold Coast.
A statement released by her management firm said she had retained Byron Bay-based lawyer John Weller and would 'protest her innocence to the charges and strenuously defend the matters in court', reports the Daily Telegraph.
Weller has made an urgent request to police to ensure the CCTV footage, which is available to them be preserved and 'which will greatly assist in the defence of Ms Zaetta', according to the statement.
"Ms Zaetta has always conducted herself with integrity, dignity and with respect to those around her. She is well known for her work in the local community as well as her ongoing media career here in Australia, India and the UK," said Weller.
"She looks forward to mounting her defence and to clearing this matter up through the appropriate channels. Any inference or suggestion through media reports that alcohol has played any role in this matter are ludicrous and baseless.
"We ask that you respect Ms Zaetta's privacy and the legal process and leave the matter to the judicial system from here on, there will be no further comment from Ms. Zaetta on this matter," the Daily Telegraph quoted Weller as saying. (ANI)
