Agartala, Mar 9(ANI): Thousands of book lovers are thronging the ongoing 29th book fair in Agartala, Tripura.
The 12-day-long fair is featuring participation of 153 booksellers and publishers from Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati, and neighbouring Bangladesh along with many local publication houses.
Dilip Kumar Roy, a visitor said: "We can easily avail books from these stalls and we don't need to order them or pay extra for post"
Tripura Governor D. Y. Patil inaugurated the fair on March 1.
Shaikh Hussain Litu, a publisher from Bangladesh, said that the fair provided an opportunity for literary and cultural bonding through the shared experiences of learning.
"I have come with books on Bengali literature, liberation war and on the father of our nation. These books are in huge demand and people of Tripura love books on poetry by Shamsur Rehman and Halmahabub" Litu said.
More than 200 books of different local publishers and writers have been released during the fair which will conclude on March 12. (ANI)
