12pc of pooches with Facebook profiles have more friends than you do

Melbourne , Wed, 09 Mar 2011 ANI

Melbourne, March 09 (ANI): Some canines with Facebook profiles have more friends on the social networking site than you do, according to a new survey.

The survey of 409 dog owners in the US carried out by market research firm Lab 42 has revealed the virtual popularity of pets, reports the Courier Mail.

The survey, carried out through social networks, found dog owners were most likely to make an account for their pet on YouTube, followed by Facebook and then Flickr and Twitter.

Of those dogs with a Facebook presence, the vast majority had less than 100 friends. 42 per cent had between 1 and 25.

Some social network-savvy pooches managed to make more than a few acquaintances, outdoing many human users.

Nine per cent of Facebook dogs had between 250 and 500 friends, and 3 per cent had more than 500. (ANI)
