Melbourne, Mar 9 (ANI): Doug Bollinger, who left the World Cup squad due to injury, has said that Australia can win the Cricket World Cup, but need to watch out for Pakistan.
Bollinger returned home after injuring his ankle in the subcontinent. He said that while Australia still has two minnow match-ups against Kenya and Canada, it is the final group match against Pakistan that could be a real test.
"Absolutely we should be wary of Pakistan. I think they've played really well. Shahid Afridi is leading really well and I think Pakistan have to be seen as one of the favourites to perform," Fox Sports quoted Bollinger, as saying.
Bollinger has been back in Australia for more than a week, but is still disappointed to be watching the World Cup action from the sidelines.
"To come home because of an injury was heartbreaking. It was my first World Cup and watching them play the other night it was hurting to know I had to watch them from home," he said.
"There's not much I can do about (the injury). I've just got to try to take a few weeks off and see how I go, see how my foot pulls up. It's obviously a shame and I'd love to be there with the guys," he added. (ANI)
