Sydney, Feb 17(ANI): Ex Australian all-rounder Simon O'Donnell believes that the Australian team would still be a force in the World Cup despite losing their two warm-up games.
Australia was bowled out for 176 against India to lose by 38 runs, and could only manage 217 against South Africa in a seven-wicket loss.
"I'm a way off from pushing any panic buttons. Yes it's not ideal, but I think we're a long way from not being competitive. If in a week's time we've been nailed by Zimbabwe, then we're in real trouble," the Herald Sun quoted O'Donnell, as saying.
The 48-year-old also backed the selectors' decision to dump injured batsman Michael Hussey from the 15-man squad.
"You can't take injured players on a tour, not being sure they're a hundred per cent right. At his age (35), I can see exactly why the selectors went that way," O'Donnell said. (ANI)
