Dave Currie's New Zealand team manager position to be reviewed

Aucklnad , Mon, 14 Feb 2011 ANI

Auckland, Feb 14(ANI): New Zealand team manager Dave Currie's position will reportedly be reviewed by New Zealand Cricket (NZC) after the upcoming World Cup in the Indian sub-continent.

According to Stuff.co.nz, Currie, whose contract expires after the two-month tournament, will be invited to re-apply, but it is expected that other applicants will also be sought.

It has been a week to forget for Currie, where he was accused by Players' Association Chief Executive Heath Mills of failing to act decisively over fast bowler Tim Southee's involvement in an incident on the World Cup team's flight from Sydney to Dubai.

NZC Chief Executive Justin Vaughan has however refused to comment on the reports.

"We haven't got to that point yet," Vaughan said when asked if Currie would be let go after the World Cup.

"If we were going to review that role we would need to have a good, open process around that. We haven't started that process yet and it would be wrong to comment any further at this stage," he added. (ANI)
