Book on Sachin Tendulkar released in Bangalore

Bangalore , Fri, 11 Feb 2011 ANI

Bangalore, Feb 11(ANI): A book on the life of Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar was released here on Thursday.

The book "Sach" is written by Gautam Bhattacharya, who is also a sports journalist said it was tough to write a book on Sachin.

"It's extremely difficult to write something new about Tendulkar because from the age of sixteen everything you have seen him, everything he does is so well documented that there is nothing else anyone can write but my whole idea was to let people know that we have this unique experience of covering Tendulkar," Bhattacharya said.

Sachin Tendulkar , Mahender Singh Dhoni , Rahul Dravid, Yuvraj Singh, Anil Kumble and Gary Kirsten were present at the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Indian coach Gary Kristen, said "Sachin Tendulkar is the greatest sporting role model I have ever met and I say this because of all the success that he has had and the adulation of the Indian people and the expectation of Indian people, every time he walks out to bat he treats it with absolute humility everytime. He always desperately wants team India to win every game and be successful.

Former Indian cricketer Anil Kumble applauded Tendulkar and wished the Indian team for the upcoming World Cup. (ANI)
