I'll do everything to make comeback from "worst day of my life", says banned Amir

Lahore, Feb 8(ANI): Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir, who has been handed down a five-year ban by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for spot-fixing, has said that he would comeback from the "worst day of my life".

"When someone is seeing in front of him the end of his future, his career, then that is the worst day of one's life. Cricket is the most important thing in my life because I left my studies for cricket, I was so passionate about it," Fox Sports quoted Amir, as saying.

"My entire family depends on me and I depend upon cricket so the entire thing will be upset by this decision. We have the option to appeal which we will exercise. About the future, I will never lose hope. I have never done that in my life."

"I firmly believe that in all adversity something good always comes out. I'll always take it as something which will propel me to do better and I'll do everything in my power to make a strong comeback," he added.

Amir, along with former captain Salman Butt and Mohammad Asif, was banned for charges relating to alleged incidents during last year's Lord's Test against England, when Britain's 'News of the World' tabloid claimed the players were willing to deliberately bowl no-balls.

Butt was banned for 10 years, with five years suspended, while Asif was handed a ban of seven years with two suspended years. (ANI)
