London, Fen 8 (ANI): 'Ugly Betty' star Eric Mabius is going gaga over his new sci-if series 'Outcasts' and has warned that there's lots of extra-terrestrial sex.
The 39-year-old plays the lead in the new BBC drama, which tells the story of space pioneers setting up a new world on another planet.
Penned by Spooks writer Ben Richards, the drama is set in 2040 on a recently-discovered planet called Carpathia, the already critically acclaimed eight part drama tells of the dilemmas, loves and lives of a group of people creating new lives for themselves free from the confines of Earth - which has been virtually destroyed.
Mabius reckoned the show might convert people who aren't usually fans of sci-fi.
"There's lots of sex going on, lots of controversy, religious repression. There is just enough sci-fi to satisfy fans of the genre but it's really more about pioneers starting out on a new planet," the Daily Mail quoted him as telling the Sun.
He said filming 'Outcasts' also helped him get over calling-off of 'Ugly Betty' after four seasons.
"Our show ended too early. Everyone was upset with them (channel ABC) for cancelling Ugly Betty. I thought what a great way to clean my palate of this bad Hollywood experience. Being the only American and having such fine actors restored my faith in this job and what is possible," he added. (ANI)
