London, Jan 28 (ANI): Sky News presenters Richard Keys and Andy Gray, who were accused of sexist comments against a British female referee during a football match last week, have reportedly quit to join Al Jazeera.

The duo had made derogatory comments against referee Sian Massey and West Ham United executive Karren Brady.

Following the controversy, Sky Sports had sacked Andy Gray, their primary football pundit and a former Scottish footballer, from his 1.7 million pounds-a-year job after a tape had emerged of his sexist behaviour.

Keys resigned from his 500,000 pounds-a-year job after admitting that he had too behaved in a 'prehistoric' way towards women.

According to the Daily Mail, both are now close to joining Al Jazeera TV. Keys is expected to reach in Qatar today for talks with the broadcaster over his appointment.

"Richard is out there at the moment. It is fair to say there is interest on Al Jazeera's part. It's not beyond the realms of possibility - they both have friends in Doha," the paper quoted a source, as saying.

Meanwhile, 25-year-old Massey has reportedly withdrawn from the match, to be played between Corby Town and Eastwood. (ANI)
