Father of Maoist abducted policeman plead for safe release

Narayanpur, Jan 27 (ANI): S. C. Dubey, father of one of the five abducted policemen of Chhattisgarh Armed Forces (CAF) pleaded for the safe release of all the police officials abducted by the Maoists.

 

On Tuesday (January 25) Maoists in Narayanpur region of the State abducted five policemen of the Chhattisgarh Armed Forces (CAF) and a civilian from a passenger bus.

 

The kidnapped security personnel included three head constables and two constables of the CAF.

 

Dubey said the Maoists rebels must talk to the State and Central governments over their demands and release all the police officials.

 

"We just want to appeal that we belong to a very normal family. My son has not committed any blunder. He went there to serve the country. So he must be released peacefully. They have disputes with the government, so they must hold peace talks with the government and get their wishes fulfilled. So it's my request that the abducted people should be released peacefully," said Dubey.

 

On Tuesday, Maoists abducted five personnel of Chhattisgarh Armed Force and a civilian from a passenger bus in Narayanpur district.

 

Among the kidnapped security personnel were three head constables and two constables of the CAF. The officials were in civilian garb, and on their way to Narayanpur.

 

Prashant Aggarwal, Assistant Superintendent of Police of Narayanpur, said the Maoists stopped the bus for about one-and-a-half hours.

 

"20-25 armed Maoists with 50-60 members stopped the bus, called the passengers out of the bus and checked their luggage. They were stopped there for around one to one-and-a-half hours," said Aggarwal.

 

"When they got to know that there are some CRPF personnel in the bus, they kidnapped five CRPF personnel and a civilian and released the bus," he added. (ANI)
