New Delhi, 1st Sept: In a joint Press Conference today BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Satish Upadhyay, MPs Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi and Shri Pravesh Verma said that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has no moral rights to continue in office. His Government has become a Government of scamsters, immoral people and persons indulging in forgery and extortion. Development works in Delhi has come to a standstill and Kejriwal’s slogan has become a subject of ridicule among the people. Under the leadership of Delhi BJP Mahila Morcha President Smt. Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal was Gheraoed and demand was made that the Chief Minister should take legal action against his Minister Sandeep Kumar.
Shri Satish Upadhyay has said that today there is strange situation in Delhi that the Chief Minister is afraid of coming before the people and he is avoiding the media. The dismissal of the tainted Cabinet Minister is being issued through Twitter and explanations are being issued through video conferencing. He said that if there is anyn morality left in the Chief Minister then he should come forward and should reply to the questions of the media and the people. The MLAs who have harassed the women should be expelled from the House. He said that after the statement of complainants it is clear that the video of the sexual misconduct of Sandeep Kumar was with the Government 20 to 15 days ago but the Government had no intension to take action against it. The comment of American Foreign Secretary yesterday in Delhi about using boats to attend the programme has put Kejriwal in the dock and a TV channel had also indicated about issuig video of Sandeep Kumar. In such situation enraged Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced dismissal of the Minister to show that he has taken action by himself when this was taken under the pressure of media and for concealing his incompetence.
Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi said that the situation which we are witnessing today is the result of reposing trust in a party which was never a political party but an organisation of greedy persons which collapsed within 18 months. She said that before coming to power Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said that I have personally verified every MLA and I promised to the people that our candidates are not tainted. It has become very difficult for him to face the people under the circumstances which are prevailing today. We are witnessing MLAs involved in anarchy, harassment of women, bribery, extortion and scams and now we are also witnessing the case of sexual misconduct. BJP demands that the Chief Minister should come forward and take action against such sinful and corrupt MLAs. She said that it is very shameful that some AAP leaders are trying to show that this is a case of consensual relationship but we want to ask that how a person can have consensual relationship with so many women. This is not with the consent of women but it is a case of having sexual relation with poor women by promising them of government benefits or service and hence police investigation is needed.
MP Shri Pravesh Verma said that the party which was formed by taking political advantage of Nirbhaya case today is involved in atrocities and exploitation of women. It is more surprising that the women wing of Aam Aadmi Party is silent in this case. Once Kejriwal had said that even if all his MLAs are sent to jail he will continue to run the Government but he was not aware about the misdeeds of his MLAs. Shri Verma said that the way in which Minister Sandeep Kumar has used the name of Baba Sahab Ambedkar to save himself the entire nation feels ashamed and it is also the insult of Baba Sahab. He also said that it is possible that the Government accommodation may have been misused for such misconduct hence Chief Minister should withdraw the official accommodation of Sandeep Kumar today itself. He also said that today the situation in Delhi reminds us about the talk of Jungle Raj in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh some times ago.
BJP leaders demanded that if Chief Minister really wants to repent then he should take initiative for police action against Sandeep Kumar.
