Akira Trailer Smashes the Record for all time views for a heroine led Hindi film - notches up over 7 million views 72 hours

The trailer of Akira has been packing a powerful punch in the digital space, and it seems that its not stopping anytime soon. After notching up an impressive 3 million views in 24 hours across Facebook and Youtube, the trailer has now gone on to beat the record for the highest number of views ever for any Hindi film with a female lead. At just over 72 hours, the trailer has amassed a massive 7 million views across the two platforms.

In comparison, trailers of the recently released Neerja has amassed a total of 6.92 million views. Mary Kom has 6.33 million views till date on its official theatrical trailer unit, while the Rani Mukherji starrer Mardaani has 4.5 million views.

Leveraging the massive online clout of Sonakshi Sinha on digital, producers Fox Star Studios had lined up a slew of strategic digital activities around the trailer launch, that helped in making the trailer a talking point in the digital sphere. Starting from using fan clubs for engagement and chatter pre-trailer release to create anticipation to Sonakshi making the trailer live online impromptu through a live Facebook chat and right down to using focused targeted vernacular posts in specific demographics on Facebook to get amplified accurate reach - the Akira trailer has been in the top trending topics across platforms since the time of launch.

Slated for a Sept 2nd release, the Akira trailer seems to have packed the right punches amongst the youth.
