Coolpad Max- The All Metal Smartphone To Be Launched On May 20!

New Delhi, Tue, 17 May 2016 NI Wire

Joining the bandwagon of finest budget smartphones in India - Coolpad has come with the new Coolpad Max. The all new metal smartphone is expected to get launched on May 20 in India.

It is notable that India has turned to be a global market for premium budget phones. This growing demand for smartphones in India has given the smartphone manufacturers across the globe a chance t come up with mid-range phones boasting elite features. However, the demand has created a tough battle and made it quite competitive. Every smartphone maker around is vying to come up with innovative design and features.

And this is what Coolpad is doing. This Chinese manufacturer of smartphones has been busy releasing teasers of Coolpad Max since quite long. It is notable that this device was launched in China last year. The device has a dual-system, which is touted to be its unique feature.

As per the company, dual-system feature provides a detached external system and a protected internal system for the safety of user's calls and texts.

Expected Features In Coolpad Max

Going by the news, Coolpad Max is most likely to see its launch in India on May 20. And while we prepare for the launch, let us have a look at some of the features the device is expected to have onboard.

It has been stated that Coolpad Max will be available in two variants - one with 3GB RAM & 16GB storage and the other variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. However, it is still not clear as to which of these variants would get released in India. Talking about price, the inaugural model was tagged ¥2,298 which in Indian currency happens to be approximately Rs. 23,500. Its superior version however will cost  ¥2,799 that's nearly Rs. 28,600.

Considering the price bracket, we can say that Coolpad might face some problems as Indian market has more demand for budget devices. Also, in the past, Coolpad has come up with mid-range handset which apparently has raised the expectation bar for Coolpad. And with the Coolpad Max, it has taken the graph a lot higher. Well, whether or not it would fare with this price range is something we'll have to watch for.

For now, let us move on with the specifications. With a finely polished 2.5D design, it has a metal unibody. The device with 3GB RAM comes powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor while the 4GB RAM variant will have a Snapdragon 617 CPU. Both of its variants sport 13MP primary camera, with 5MP front-camera and 2,800mAh battery that has the Quick Charge feature. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop-based Cool UI, with dual SIM slots.

The Future

Coolpad Max is surely going to win attention given its wonderful design and the innovative dual system. But if we look at hardware part, Coolpad Max doesn't have anything in particular that can help the device outshine or even compete with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Meizu M3 Note, LeEco Le 1s and other handsets available under-Rs. 15,000 handsets in India.

However, if Max brings down the price, we're sure it will surely see a bright run in the market. It will have to match the price as offered by the tough competitors as users will other affordable options to choose from.

We really hope that Coolpad changes its pricing strategy if it's eying to win big in the Indian smartphone market. The launch still has some time and we can expect the price to go down so that Max can enjoy a good run!
