Delhi BJP submitted with Police Commissioner memorandum to ensure women security

New Delhi, 18th May: A delegation of women office bearers of Delhi BJP today met the Police Commissioner of Delhi and submitted a memorandum demanding visible enhancement of police deployment to ensure women security and proper investigation into the threats received by Delhi Commission for Women Chairperson Smt. Barkha Singh.

The memorandum demands deployment of police pickets with women cops around big markets, office and residential complexes and women colleges to ensure a security feel for the women.

The memorandum also suggests that Police should keep in touch with social activists and women RWA members to identify areas where women feel insecure or persons in the localities whom they perceive as threat.

The delegation urged the Police Commissioner to order proper investigation into the threats received by Delhi Commission for Women Chairperson Smt. Barkha Singh and to provide her security as per threat perception.

The delegation included Delhi BJP Vice President Smt. Kiran Chaddha, Secretary Smt. Sudha Sharma, Delhi Mahila Morcha President Smt. Kamaljeet Sehrawat, General Secretary Smt. Preeti Aggarwal and Smt. Mamta Kale. Delhi BJP Vice President Shri Abhay Verma and Spokesperson Shri Rajiv Babbar accompanied the delegation.
