Delhi Legislative Assembly election, 2015

In Delhi, Legislative Assembly election 2015 is going to be held on 7 February 2015 to elect the members of the Delhi Legislative Assembly. The results of the election will be announced on 10th Feburary 2015. Through this election process, 70 members of the Delhi Legislative Assembly will be elected by the public.

This election will be held in single phase on 7 February 2015.

In this election 1.3 crore of the voters of Delhi will elect the members for Delhi Legislative Assembly. The total number of the polling stations setup are 1176.

Last February AAP government quit after ruling for 49 days and since then Delhi is under the President’s Rule.

The elections for the Delhi Legislative Assembly was held in 2013 and in that election BJP had won 31 seats, AAP 28 and Congress 8. The BJP was the ahead but failed to make the government. Then Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Delhi Najeeb Jung to invite the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which was the second largest party, for attempting to form the government. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), formed the government with outside support from the Indian National Congress (INC). After running the government for 49 days AAP's leader Arvind Kejriwal resigned on 14 February 2014.

There a total of 70 seats in the Legislative Assembly of Delhi, and to make a government at least 36 seats needed.
