'Godfather' house up for sale at $2.9m

London , Fri, 21 Jan 2011 ANI

London, Jan 21 (ANI): A Tudor-style home, which featured in Francis Ford Coppola's 1972 film 'The Godfather', is up for sale.

And the owners of New York's Staten Island home are asking a whopping 2.9 million dollars - or an 'offer they can't refuse', reports the Daily Mail.

The house was used in the wedding scene of the 1972 flick - considered among the greatest American films of all time - second only, perhaps, to 'Citizen Kane'.

It includes eight bedrooms, four bathrooms, a swimming pool, an English pub in the basement and a four-car garage.

Gianni Russo, a Staten Islander who played Carlo Rizzi in the film, was instrumental in getting the house selected for the wedding scene, said realtor Connie Profaci Realty.

An employee of the realtor said that the sellers were only the second owners of the 12-room, 6,250-square-foot house.

Owner James Norton said his mother kept many artefacts from the movie, including Marlon Brando's cue cards. (ANI)
