India's first stamp features on the Google Doodle

Today is the India's 68th Independence Day and Google today posted a doodle on its home page featuring the India's first stamp. The stamp color is the blue and it is with the Google Log, when you open the India's homepage of the Google you can see the image.

This was the first stamp of India issued on November 21, 1947 depicts the Indian flag and a slogan 'Jai Hind'. This stamp was priced at one-half annas. This stamp was meant for the foreign correspondence.

The Google Doodle starts with the saffron color "G" and the color used is the saffron color used in the stamp. Then the next two letters of the Google Logo (OO) is covered with the stamp and the rest "gle" is in the Green color which is used in the Indian national flag.

According to the Google "Doodles are the fun, surprising, and sometimes spontaneous changes that are made to the Google logo to celebrate holidays, anniversaries, and the lives of famous artists, pioneers, and scientists".

The Indian Post Office was established in 1837. The Indian Post System expanded its reach to almost all the parts of India. And it was controlled by the British East India Company.

After the Independence of India in the year 1947, the Indian postal service is continued as Indian Govt. Organization.
