The Chief Secretary Govt of NCT of Delhi S. K. Shrivastava today convened a meeting of senior officers, Pr. Secretary (Social Welfare, Women and Child Development), Secretary (Art and Culture) and Addl. Director (Education) at Delhi Secretariat, wherein the top representatives of International planned parenthood federation, Centre for Health and Social Justice and NGO Seher gave a presentation about global symposium and concert which will be organized by them at India Gate from 10th to 13th November 2014 for carrying the message condemning violence against women.
The federation and its co-partners centre for Health and Social justice and NGO Seher have planned to organize the global symposium as well as mega concert of cultural events in the capital for larger social endorsement of the message to curb violence against women. The people from all walks of live including researchers, practitioners, advocates, activists, government representatives and students will attend the symposium and will take pledge for stopping violence against women in the society.
During the presentation the federation has sought logistic support from Delhi government with regard to seeking approval of the venue and other clearances etc.
Shrivastava asked them to submit their requests to the respective Departments and a copy thereof to him for followup action.
