West Indies fast bowler Courtney Walsh inaugurated the Suryadatta Fitness and Sports Academy –SFSA and lit the lamp. SFSA has been created in order to cater to the fitness requirement of the students and residents of the nearby areas. The inauguration was done by lighting a lamp as well as inaugurating a complete Gymnasium and aerobic centre at the SFSA. On this occasion, Dr Sanjay Chordiya, Founder President and Chairman of Suryadatta Group of Institutes said - he always encouraged having eminent people like him visit out campus as it is highly motivating for our students. He Informed the importance of Health and fitness for success.
On this occasion, Dr Chordiya conferred the Suryadatta National Award 2014 for Excellence in the field of Sports to the West Indies Pace bowler Courtney Walsh. Suryadatta confers these awards every year to eminent personalities for achievements in their respective fields.
Walsh addressed the gathering of students, faculty members and residents with his encouraging speech. He said that India have extremely good spinners however, “India can solve the problem of young pacers breaking down soon after bursting into the scene if they maintain a higher level of fitness.” He specially spoke of Virat Kohli being an impressive batsman of the Indian cricket team. Walsh appreciated the facilities being provided by Suryadatta for health and fitness.
Walsh visited the Suryadatta National School campus and had healthy interaction with the students and faculty of school. He took a tour of the Suryadatta campus and was very impressed by the same. His visit came to a grand finale when he played an over with the students and staff of Suryadatta.
