In another major attack on BJP Prime Ministerial Candidate Narendra Modi, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi said that he believe in dividing the people. He was addressing an election rally here.
Addressing the rally, he said that Narendra Modi divides people like the British used to.
He further added, "What did the British do when they first came to India? They made Hindus and Muslims fight with each other. They used to divide the people and rule. Similarly the opposition breaks the unity among the people. Modi does the work of dividing people like the way British used to do and rule," Gandhi said.
"The Congress party and Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi unite people who belong to different castes and religions. This is our politics," Gandhi added.
It is noted that Modi was also in Assam during his election campaigning.
