East Delhi Mayor Ms Meenakshi launched a toll-free helpline 1800 11 2028 to address the issues of teaching and learning in its schools.
Chairman of the Education Committee Mr. Harsh Deep Malhotra; Director (Education) K Vijyan and senior dignitaries were also present on this occasion. The helpline has been launched in collaboration with Tech Mahindra Foundation.
The Mayor Ms. Meenakshi said that with this helpline, the teachers would have access to a toll-free helpline and engage with a dedicated team of experts and subject matter specialists, who would assist them with the everyday challenges that they face in classrooms.
She said that through the helpline, teachers would also be exposed to a plethora of subject matter and pedagogical resources, which would equip them to be more professional and competent educators.
Mr. Harsh Deep Malhotra said that the EDMC directly runs 390 primary schools in the East Delhi area, which cater to more than 224,000 children, taught by around 5600 teachers. He said that the helpline would engage closely with teachers by establishing an active, real-time, continuous dialogue about education at school level.
