Minister of Law and Justice, Govt. of India, Ravi Shankar Parsad has said that Constitution provides welfare and rights of dignified living, without fear to all the citizens including children. He was inaugurating a seminar in Delhi. He said in august gathering present there that Government is open to hear to all kinds of school of thoughts regarding the age of the Juveniles.
He was speaking in a seminar to discuss the "Challenges of 21 st Century under the Umbrella of J.J.Act, 2000" organized by a leading organization Sampurna, which is incessantly working for the inclusive growth of society since long.
He said that the Government led by Prime Minister Narender Modi is very sensitive towards the rights of children. The Juvenile Justice System could be improved by using the modern technology. The missing children could be traced in less time through portal. Targeting the youth, sitting in large number there, he said that now global information is one click away. He appreciated the good work done by Sampurna from last several years.
The Founder President of Sampurna, Dr Shobha Vijender talking to press, said that the organization is trying to bring the policy makers, bureaucrats, academicians and general public on common platform to synergize the existing laws involving Juveniles. She further said that the need for the seminar has arisen as number of proposals are being received pertaining to amendments in 'Juvenile Justice Act 2000'from the experts who have been constantly trying to bring a change in the pathetic conditions of children within the institutions and outside.
Amod Kanth, an ex police officer was of the view that the Juveniles are juveniles and any attempt to reduce the age of culpability may be unfortunate. He emphasized to provide moral and professional education in the children homes to rehabilitate them in society.
