Barmer (Rajasthan), April 12 (IANS) BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi Saturday took a dig at the Congress, saying tt had "misused" every government agency to trouble him.
"In the last 10 years, every agency has been misused to trouble me. They worked overtime on this," Modi said at a rally in Pachpadra in Barmer district, in an indirect reference to the Central Bureau of Investigation.
"Your sultanate (government) has gone overtime to trouble Modi. Keep trying the same and people will punish you," the Bharatiya Janata Party leader said.
On Rahul Gandhi's statement comparing BJP's campaign to the "Dhoom" movie series, Modi said the Congress leader remembered the movie because of his motor-cycle ride with a man with a criminal background in Gopalgarh in Bharatpur district in 2011.
Gandhi had visited Gopalgarh after communal violence in September 2011 led to death of at least 10 people.
"Shehzada did not even tell the then Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot about his visit. Shehzada visited the place on a stolen bike driven by a history-sheeter," Modi said.
The Gujarat chief minister also criticised now-expelled BJP leader Jaswant Singh, who has filed his papers for the Barmer seat as an independent.
Not naming any one, Modi said there were leaders who do not show their faces for five years and suddenly come to people at the time of election asking for votes.
Referring to Amarinder Singh, he said a complaint has made about a former Punjab chief minister and Lok Sabha candidate from Amritsar on hiding information about his bank accounts.
"I want to tell officials to probe it. If he is innocent, the Congress should speak for him, saying he is clean," Modi said. "People have a right to know the truth."
He said if the BJP comes to power, his government will work towards bringing back to India the black money stashed in banks overseas.
Modi also assured that the government will take care of Hindu migrants from Pakistan.
On the importance of water in this desert region of the country, Modi said: "I know how hard you work and how important water is for you. We want to link rivers, fulfil Atal ji's dream."
"Like water, gas and petrol can make this land the pride of India. And this is exactly what our priority will be," he added.
