New Delhi, April 12 (IANS) President Pranab Mukherjee Saturday greeted the nation on Mahavir Jayanti and urged the people to follow his path of "righteous action".
In his message, Mukherjee said: "On the auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, I convey my greetings and good wishes to all my countrymen and in particular, to the Jain community."
"Lord Mahavira's message of peace and non-violence has enriched our cultural heritage. May his noble teachings continue to inspire us," the president said.
"Let us imbibe his teachings of right faith, knowledge and conduct. Let us promote peace by unwaveringly following the path of righteous action. May this occasion bring happiness and prosperity to all."
