London, Mar. 17 (ANI): Former world No. 1 Novak Djokovic has won the BNP Paribas Open final in Indian Wells defeating Roger Federer 3-6 6-3 7-6 (7-3) in a deciding tiebreak.
Despite reportedly not being at his best, the Serb kept his nerve to comfortably win the tiebreak after losing the first set and failing to serve out for the match at 5-4 in the third set.
According to the BBC, Djokovic, who is currently ranked world No. 2, said that he was proud of achieving the victory as it was not just about winning the trophy but about the way he came back from a set down in a couple of matches adding that the victory has given him a lot of confidence.
Djokovic had also said after the semi-final that very few points would decide the final and that game proved him right as a single break decided the opening two sets and were followed by a final that was followed by a tiebreaker. (ANI)
