New Delhi, March 11 (IANS) The Democratic Republic of Congo Tuesday suggested the setting up of a forum for young entrepreneurs from India and Africa to leverage the potential between the two sides.
"There should be a forum for young entrepreneurs in India and Africa. That will help in bringing the youth together for more fruitful results," Congo's Minister of Youth Collinet Makosso said, addressing a session at the 10th CII-EXIM Bank Conclave here on India Africa Project partnership.
He also proposed that Indian corporates plough in money from their corporate social responsibility fund and create a new pool of funds to finance projects done in collaboration by young Indians and Africans.
"The demographic pattern of our country could also become a threat, if we do not handle it properly. Hence we should try to capitalise on that. We have highly educated youth in Congo and we should look at demographic dividends it could pay," Makosso said.
Around 65 percent of the African population is below the age of 35 years.
