New Delhi, March 9, (ANI): Terming the mishaps taking place in the Indian Navy one after another as tragic, Communist Party of India (CPI) leader Atul Anjan, on Sunday said that the scientists along with the government must spruce themselves up to do away with such anomalies which are recurring too often that poses a serious question mark on the nations defence preparedness.
"Political parties must desist themselves from giving away any reactions on a mishap which has taken place on a submarine that claimed the life of one worker yesterday. Since, these lean machines are a creation of man's highest scientific advent, hence, this calls for the government and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) to observe greatest amount of precaution," Anjan said.
"Both the scientific community and the government must look into ways and means to lower such accidents in the future. Also, the government must conduct a probe to find out as to why these accidents are becoming way too many," he added.
One worker was killed and three others seriously injured in an accident at the Ship Building Center on the premises of the Eastern Naval Command on Saturday, where indigenous nuclear submarine INS Arihant was built, and its follow -on nuclear submarines are being built. This is the third accident involving the Indian Navy in the last two weeks. (ANI)
