New Delhi, Mar. 9 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Sunday said that the party had complained to the Election Commission against Congress and party Vice President Rahul Gandhi for accusing the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) of killing Mahatma Gandhi.
""The Congress is involved in a criminal conspiracy and we have spoken and complaint to the Election Commission about this. Baseless allegations made by Rahul Gandhi against the RSS reflect his lack of knowledge in history or he is doing it on purpose," said Naqvi
"In 1948, when the Congress and the Muslim League had accused the RSS of being involved in Mahatma Gandhi's murder the then home minister Sardar Vallabhai Patel had ordered a probe in which they had got a clean chit," he said.
If Congress is unaware of it and is making such statement, it reflects their Talibani mindset. They have been known for their habit of conspiring. They are trying to divide the nation and are trying to obstruct fair and peaceful elections. This is not the first time that they have said something like this," he added.
While addressing a rally on Friday, Gandhi had alleged that the RSS had killed Mahatma Gandhi in 1948.
Addressing the media yesterday, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh justified Rahul Gandhi's comment on RSS that the ideology of the radical outfit had killed Mahatma Gandhi.
"Yes, what he has said is true that the ideology of the Sangh is responsible for the murder of Mahatma Gandhi. And if we review the statements of Gopal Godse and Nathuram Godse, they have made it clear in their statement that they both were workers of the Sangh," said Singh. (ANI)
