Sydney, Mar. 04 (ANI): Australian cricketer Matthew Wade has said that night Tests are still a long way from becoming a reality even as Cricket Australia (CA) is trialling the new pink balls in day-night domestic games in a bid to use them in mainstream cricket as early as 2015-16.
Wade, who is the captain of Victorian team, believes that there is much research and design work to be done before the revolutionary pink ball, which was given a conditional tick in its inaugural Sheffield Shield, becomes part of mainstream Test matches.
According to News.com.au, Wade has said that they need to get the ball in the right condition, as the players want the ball to be 'exactly like' it is while playing a 'red ball'.
Wade further added that the ball got a bit out of shape and it also got old a lot quicker according to his teammates.
However, their opponents, the Tasmanian Tigers' mainstay batsmen Ben Dunk said that he found the pink ball 'similar' to every other ball. (ANI)
